Meet the doctor
A fellowship-trained podiatric surgeon, Dr. Gauland specializes in advanced wound care, limb salvage, and infection treatment at Specialty Foot & Ankle.
Dr. Gauland earned his undergraduate degree in Biology with a Physiology concentration from East Carolina University — a Diamond Scholar nominee — then completed further studies at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, BC, before earning his medical degree from Temple School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia.
He completed surgical residencies at Midwest Medical Center in Indianapolis and at Midwestern Regional Medical Center / Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Zion, Illinois, followed by specialized Limb Salvage training at the Diabetic Foot Center of Lake County, IL.
An active national and international lecturer on foot and ankle infections, wounds, and limb salvage, Dr. Gauland brings cutting-edge expertise to patients in Greenville. Originally from East Islip, New York, he lives locally with his wife and two daughters and supports ECU Pirate Athletics.
